Reasons causing memory card read failure are as follows:

1.  Power of camera is switched OFF while the camera is accessing data.
2.  Taking a picture when the battery is low.
3.  Withdrawing the memory card when the camera is accessing data.

The remedy to the above problems is to avoid incorrect use of the memory card. If unfortunately any of the above
happens, use PC and a card reader to re-format the memory card.
