ˇ@ˇ@Starting the development and manufacture of T-flash(Micro SD)
card in Q4 of 2004, Kingmax Digital Inc announced that this worldˇ¦s
smallest removable T-flash(Micro SD) card would be launched to the
market in Q1 of 2005. The T-flash(Micro SD) card gained immediate
support from Motorola, the world leading mobile phone manufacturer,
when it was introduced into the market in 2004, and Moto has since
launched new models that support the T-flash(Micro SD) card for
its mini size and upgradeable advantages to reform the inflexibility
of embedded memory of conventional mobile phones. While its mini
size can save cartridge space, mobile phone manufacturers are given
greater room in the appearance design of mobile phones. Therefore,
Moto is promoting the application of T-flash(Micro SD) memory with
active actions in order to make T-flash(Micro SD) card the standard
memory specification of multimedia mobile phones.
ˇ@ˇ@Kingmax has adopted the SLC (single level cell)
architecture for all its memory products. This architecture is technically
superior to the MLC (multi-level cell) architecture and requires
a higher production cost because it offers greater flexibility in
capacity expansion, greater data transfer speed, better energy saving
performance and thus a longer life. Therefore, the new T-flash(Micro
SD) card from Kingmax is a better choice to meet the storage and
data transfer speed requirements of high-resolution mobile phones,
as well as the total solution for video and audio recording and
playback.
ˇ@ˇ@According the IDC, a market survey expert, the
storage capacity has become the primary requirement of modern mobile
phones which offer comprehensive functions. It is expected that
the output value of the global mobile market will rise to US$745
million in 2007, and the demand for phone storage capacity will
augment as the userˇ¦s demand for on-the-phone video and audio keeps
increasing. Therefore, the T-flash(Micro SD) card which is as small
as conventional embedded memory, removable and expandable as ordinary
flash memories, and allows users to add new applications will surely
be the right storage medium for multifunctional mobile devices in
the future.
ˇ@ˇ@In a time when slimness and light-weight have
become a global trend, whether big appliance or small personal belongings
are needed to be lightweight, slim, short and small. Therefore,
even memory cards are slim and lightweight, it is necessary for
manufacturers to make them even smaller. The thumb-sized T-flash(Micro
SD) card that introduced into the market in Q4 of 2004 is believed
to be the smallest removable storage device on the market. The development
and manufacture technologies of T-flash(Micro SD) have become mature.
Kingmax thus take the lead to introduce the new generation T-flash(Micro
SD) card into the market with its technology-focus tradition in
hopes to bring the memory card market to a new era.
ˇ@ˇ@The water-resistant T-flash(Micro SD) card ranging
from 32MB to 128MB from Kingmax will launch to the market in March
2005 and the mass production and supply will start in Q2. The 256MB
model is expected in the middle of 2005.
