Application Performance Class can be applied to UHS SDHC/SDXC Memory Card product family.

1. Can I use iKey under Window XP or Apple iOS?

Kingmax iKey currently only supports Windows 7/8.1/10 O/S.

 

2. Why can I use the iKey log in function, not App application?

If you are using Win7 and Win8 you would need to download the App software in Kingmax Website.

3. When using the web encryption function, why didn’t the dialogue “do you need to save password” pop up?

For IE Users: Make sure you choose “enable” when the IE browser launched first time after installation. The below dialogue will pop up.

For Chrome Users: If you have Chrome installed, the following Smart-IDWebautoLogin program should be installing.  Please install and enable the addon program.

 

4. Why isn’t the file encrypted automatically after I decrypted it?

After the file is decrypted, you will need to encrypt the file again manually.

 

5. Why can’t I use iKey webpage encryption after using Chrome's “password memory” function?

Because it will conflict, please be sure to use iKey web-based encryption

 

6. Why can’t I log into the computer using iKey?

Please make sure you have completed the following steps, and turn on the biometric function. 

Please follow the below procedures according to your Windows version.

Win 7/8.1 Users:

• Go to Control Panel   
• Select the Biometric Device  
• Change the Biometric Setting    
• Select the Biometric Device to allow the users to log in

For Win10 Hello Users:

• Go to Setting
• Windows Hello Account
• Windows Hello to create a new Fingerprint
• Windows Hello welcome – click START
• Key in the PIN number (the same PIN as you log into your computer)

To log into the computer

• Insert the iKey into USB hub
• Click on Switch Users
• Fingerprint Login
• You will need to key in the PIN number (the same PIN as you log into Computer)
• If you want to test you need to log out and then scan your finger to log in.

 Atten: If you still cannot log into the computer using the fingerprint, please be sure your APP is the updated version. If the APP is the old version you will need to update.

 

 7. When I automatically update the driver software, why some of the features can not be used?

Windows 10 to synchronize updates App.

Win 7 & 8.1 need to manually update the App. If you encounter this problem, please download the latest App from Kingmax website manually.

 

 8. Why can’t I install the app?

Please confirm whether you had turned on the anti-virus software. If so, please turn off and wait until the installation is successful.

 

 9. Why does my notebook has no problem, but I can not use in the desktop?

Sometimes because the old computer power supply is too dirty, causing noise too large, so it can not be used.

When you encounter this situation, it is recommended that you switch to the USB port of the PC or use another new power supply.

 

 10.  When initial fingerprint password is set why can’t I proceed to next step?

Microsoft has set administrative privileges. iKey Fingerprint reader in the highest Administrator or the lowest user permissions can not be used, You will need to add a new account under Administrator in order to fix this problem. 

On Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10:
1. Open "My Computer."
2. Right click on the drive, and select "Format."
3. Choose NTFS in the File System dropdown box, and click "Start."

TRIM is a command that enables operating system (such as Windows 7) to notify the SSD which data is no longer valid and can be safely deleted. Also, the TRIM works when the SSD is idle so that it can maximize the performance and endurance of a SSD.

ECC (Error correcting Code) automatically detects and corrects data corruption that occurs during reading, writing, storage, transmission or processing. This technology ensures a more complete and safer data transmission.

According to the USB Association, USB 3.0 has been renamed "USB 3.1 Gen 1" and "USB 3.1 Gen 2".
- USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB3.0) transmission rate is 5Gbps, is the same with USB3.0
- USB 3.1 Gen 2 (SuperSpeedPlus) transmission rate is 10Gbit/s

*USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB3.0) is backward compatible with USB 2.0, but the transfer rate will be limited by the USB 2.0 interface.

Those Symbols, Speed Class, UHS Speed Class and Video Speed Class with a number indicate minimum writing speed, are mainly useful for camcorders, video recorders and other devices with video recording capabilities. Regarding bus mode, it is necessary to use a bus mode fast enough that does not affect memory write speed. 

Speed Class C10 is used in High Speed mode or faster, UHS Speed Class U1 and U3 are used in SDR50/DDR50 or faster, and Video Speed Class symbols V60 and V90 are used in UHS-II mode or faster. Each Memory card has a symbols or mark on it describing the speed class. Users should choose the proporate card for the devices application.

*Remark: Video Speed Class is defined to answer a demand for high resolution and high quality 4K8K video recording and it also has an important feature to support next generation flash memory such as 3D NAND. Furthermore, as it covers speed of HD(2K) video, it is possible to integrate into Video Speed Class from now on.

Please make sure the specification of the Memory Card is compatible with your device.
-SDXC Memory Card can only be used on a device that supports SDXC.
-SDHC Memory Card can be used on a device that supports SDHC and SDXC.
-SD Memory Card can be used on a device that supports SD, SDHC and SDXC.

All storage products will display less than stated memory capacity on a computer. The discrepancy results from different algorithms.

On a computer, 1GB = 1024*1024*1024 = 1,073,741,824 (1024 is 2 to the power of 10, which is the algorithm used by the computer)

For a 32GB pen drive, the computer will calculate it as having capacity of 29.80GB.
32,000,000,000÷1,024÷1,024÷1,024 ≒ 14.90GB.

Also note that each Flash memory may possess innate variances because of its manufacturing process. KINGMAX will therefore adjust the available space on the pen drive to store necessary firmware configurations or system data. Please be assured that we do so at appropriate measures and that your pendrive has the normal capacity.

(1) FAT32 is only supported by memory cards/ pen drives with capacity less than 32GB, and it does not support storing or transmitting any single file that exceeds 4GB in size.
(2) The exFAT file system was released by Microsoft to address FAT32's inability to carry files over 4GB. Also if the capacity of your memory card/pen drive are larger than 32GB, you could format it to exFAT.  It depends on the users' need to choose the file system to format the memory cards / pen drives.
